Objective:To investigate the effect of Sini decoction on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and stromal cell-derived factor-1(SDF-1)in serum in rabbits with hyperlipidemia(HLP)complicated by atherosclerosis(AS).Methods:A total of 60 New Zealand big-eared white rabbits were randomly divided into blank control group(group A),AS model group(group B),atorvastatin group(group C),low-dose Sini decoction group(group D),middle-dose Sini decoction group(group E),and high-dose Sini decoction group(group F),with 10 rabbits in each group. The rabbits were given high-fat feed to establish a model of HLP complicated by AS,and the rabbits in groups C,D,E,and F were treated with atorvastatin and high-,middle-,and low-dose Sini decoction, respectively. After 12 weeks of intervention,HE staining was performed for aortic sections, and blood samples were collected to measure the serum levels of VEGF and SDF-1.Results:Compared with the model group, the high- and middle-dose Sini decoction groups had significant reductions in the serum levels of VEGF and SDF-1(P<0.01).Conclusion:Sini decoction has a protective effect on the vascular endothelium and can reduce the levels of VEGF and SDF-1 in rabbits with HLP complicated by AS. |
