| 院训是学术机构价值内核与精神旗帜的高度凝练。湖南省中医药研究院“诚意 求索 惟新 玄同”八字院训，源于经典而深植于中华优秀传统文化沃土，集中体现了中医学的哲学根基与价值追求，是其在新时代回应国家战略、实现高质量发展的行动纲领。本文通过文献分析、案例研究与哲学阐释，系统解析该院训的文化渊源、哲学意蕴及其与“健康中国”“中华民族共同体”“人类命运共同体”等宏大叙事的逻辑关联。研究认为，四词八字院训构成一个从“个体修养”（诚意）到“方法论自觉”（求索），再到“发展观动力”（惟新），最终升华为“文明境界”（玄同）的完整价值演进体系。在实践层面，院训通过筑牢科研伦理、驱动融合创新、构建协同生态、贡献全球智慧等路径，为中医药事业的现代化转型与国际化传播提供了核心文化引擎，也为新时代中医药机构的文化建设与战略实践提供了理论范式，并为传统学术的创造性转化与创新性发展提供了基于价值自觉的中国方案。 |

| Spiritual characteristics and contemporary mission of the institutional motto of “Sincerity,Exploration, Innovation, and Profound Unity” |

| Abstract: |
| An institutional motto represents the highly condensed value core and spiritual banner of an academic institution. The eight-character motto of Hunan Academy of Chinese Medicine—Sincerity, Exploration, Innovation, and Profound Unity—originates from classical texts and is deeply rooted in the rich soil of China’s excellent traditional culture, and it embodies the philosophical foundation and value pursuit of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and serves as an action program for responding to national strategies and achieving high-quality development in the new era. Through a literature analysis, case studies, and philosophical interpretation, this article systematically analyzes the cultural origins and philosophical connotations of this institutional motto, as well as the logical connections between this motto and the grand narratives such as “Healthy China”, “Community of the Chinese Nation”, and “Community with a Shared Future for Mankind”. The research shows that these four terms with eight characters constitute a complete value evolution system progressing from “individual cultivation” (Sincerity) to “methodological consciousness” (Exploration), “developmental momentum” (Innovation), and ultimately “civilizational realm” (Profound Unity). At the practical level, the motto provides a core cultural engine for the modernization and internationalization of TCM by strengthening research ethics, driving integrative innovation, constructing collaborative ecosystems, and contributing global wisdom, and it also offers a theoretical paradigm for cultural construction and strategic practice in TCM institutions in the new era and provides a Chinese solution based on value consciousness for the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional scholarship. |
