Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of penetration acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture in the treatment of abducens nerve palsy. Methods:A total of 60 patients (60 diseased eyes) with abducens nerve palsy were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, with 30 patients (30 diseased eyes) in each group. The patients in the treatment group were given penetration acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture, while those in the control group were given conventional acupuncture, and the course of treatment was 4 weeks for both groups. The two groups were compared in terms of eyeball movement distance and horizontal diplopia angle before and after treatment, and overall response was assessed for both groups. Results:There was a significant difference in overall response rate between the treatment group and the control group [96.67% (29/30) vs 73.33% (22/30),P < 0.05].After treatment, both groups had a significant increase in eyeball movement distance and a significant reduction in horizontal diplopia angle (P < 0.01),and the treatment group had significantly better improvements than the control group (P < 0.01).Conclusion:Penetration acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture has a marked clinical effect in the treatment of abducens nerve palsy, with a better clinical effect than conventional acupuncture. |
